Susan Jean is an artist from Southern California who currently lives in Viva Las Vegas. She loves using art for healing, experimenting with new ideas, creating intuitively, and just having fun with the process of making something out of nothing. Susan is passionate about reminding us that we are all artists and hopes to inspire others to embrace making perfectly imperfect art to heal and feel. She always loves a fun art collab with friends and her favorite person to create with is her daughter. She is honored to have the opportunity to share her art with others and is stoked that going forward she is releasing most of her art for FREE as Creative Commons (CC0)/Public Domain for all to enjoy and use as they please. Susan's artistic mission is to enjoy the meditative process of making art while also creating FREE art offerings for all that will bring joy to others. Art is an extension of who she is and it is one of her favorite outlets through the ups and downs of life. She enjoys making fun, happy, colorful, weird, intuitive, abstract, expressive art offerings. Susan's art is: filled with healing energy, good vibes & intentions, perfectly imperfect, experimental analog & digital mixed media, intuitive abstract expressionism, magical kind creatures, all the colors, & even sometimes a bit of AI magic! Through the years her works have been both purchased for hundreds of dollars and given away freely, collected internationally, featured in the media (print/tv/internet), won awards, walked the runway, in photoshoots, raised money for charity, shown and sold in online & brick-and-mortar retail shops, galleries, & art events, made into zines & children's books, read at storytimes, placed in free little libraries, hidden in public for others to find & keep, turned into stickers & coloring pages, taught in all-ages art classes, made into album covers, in art vending machines, mystery boxes & subscription boxes, on merch & home goods, collected & traded as NFTs, sold as stock art, used as GIFs, shown on a big screen in Times Square NYC, collabed/remixed, and dedicated to the public domain via CC0. She has been creating her entire life and professionally since 2006. She has run multiple arts-based businesses and creative community projects, has an Associate of Science in Fashion Design, is self-taught in several mediums, and continues to study various art disciplines and techniques.

I've been offering my art to others in various ways for as long as I can remember and plan to for the rest of my life simply because art is a part of who I am and I love sharing it and connecting with others through it. I've been having so much fun releasing most of my newer art as FREE Creative Commons (CC0)/public domain and hope you've been enjoying it too! (Basically CC0 means you can download the art and do whatever you want with it.) I fell in love with Reiki and sound baths as part of my healing journey as a cancer survivor. I loved it so much I got certified as a Reiki Level II practioner and Level 2 Certified Sound Healer so that I could use these healing arts in my own healing journey as well as pay it forward to my fellow cancer warriors and beyond.
What is Reiki? Reiki is a healing arts practice, and the word itself means universal energy (“rei” = universal, “ki” = life energy). You can think of it as loving, healing energy flowing from the universe and sent through a practitioner who acts as a conduit to send it your way. It is thought to help with well-being, stress relief, healing support, and can only be used for good. Reiki originated in Japan and is now practiced around the world in various ways, including as distance Reiki where the energy is believed to reach you wherever you are, knowing where to go, what you need, and how to help.
About The Free Art Journals Project: The vision for the FREE Art Journals Project is pretty simple yet the impact is awesome (it's always the little things, isn't it?)! I raise funds by donating a portion of my FREE Art Projects tips/donations, hosting fundraisers, and accepting donations/sponsorships/grants from generous people (like you!) to create FREE art journal supply bundles to donate to various people/groups in our community. I make FREE Art Journal Drops and host FREE Art Journal Circles locally in Las Vegas, NV. Together, we are able to give the gift of a healing arts practice to many others in the Las Vegas community including: cancer communities, schools, senior living homes, memory care, coffee shop meetups, community clubs, etc.
About the FREE Art Journal Circles: This isn’t your ordinary art class… in fact it’s not a class at all; it’s more of a fun art filled gathering with friends. Every FREE Community Art Journal Circle will include a FREE Art Journal Drop with FREE art journals & art journal supplies. We will be drawing whatever we each want in our very own art journals alongside each other in community while listening to music, chatting, looking at art inspirations, and creating a group collab page in the Traveling Art Journal! The hope is that your art journal will be something you enjoy drawing in regularly and bring back to the next circle to share what you’ve created. We will have brand new art journals and drawing supplies to start your very own art journal practice during the circle and at home. If you’ve already received an art journal/art supplies from a previous circle and/or if you have your own, please continue bring them.
